Monday Make Up Haul

Happy Monday!

Over the last few weeks I have acquired yet another unnecessary amount of makeup/ beauty products. See I've developed quite a bit of a makeup addiction in the last year.  I would like to say all of my recent purchases were my way of "catching up" and obtaining all the "necessary" products to create a full make up look... but I would be lying.

I have gotten carried away! And personally I don't mind.  I love it! It's just that my bank account doesn't always agree with me. Such a downer ya know?!

Anyway. the products below are my current daily necessity products :)

Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Eye Master Brush Collection $62 $42
Maybe I'm just a loyal fan to Jaclyn Hill, but this collection has become my holy grail.  The blending brushes are amazing.  I like to think I'm pretty great at blending to begin with but I think this is a great starting place if you're not!  There is also this little tiny brush that is the most PERFECT size and shape for the inner corner!

Hank & Henry Liquid Matte Lipstick in shade Petal Pusher $17
This matte lipstick I got in my September Boxy Charm. I have never heard of the brand before, but it is definitely worth the buy.  The color has great lasting power which is one of the most important things to me when buying a lipstick.  Oh and the best part... it smells like cupcakes!! As you'll come to see, that combo is a DREAM for me.

Pretty Vulgar Nightingale Palette $35

This palette I also received in my September Boxy Charm. I was really excited for this because as you can see it's a cool tone palette.  In my experience I have found that most people tend to reach for warmer toned colors, myself included.  This proposed a challenge for me and I was ready for it.

My first look I wanted to use the blue, and got a little crazy.  The fun part was that I give myself a limited amount of time in the morning to get ready for work, and couldn't change it.  SO all day the women were telling me how glam I looked, but that my flannel shirt brought the look back down to earth 😅  But now that I've created a more toned down look out of it, I love it!

Pixi by Petra Blush Duo in shade Peach Honey $18

Blush isn't my top make up product ever.  I feel its necessary, but I'm generally good with having one shade that goes with my complexion and moving on. This little duo I love because it has both a nice shade or blush AND a light glow highlighter, and I am ALL ABOUT the glow.

Nars Full Vinyl Lip Lacquer in shade Orgasm $26
This BEAUTY right here. This is my all time favorite lip gloss.  The color is a natural looking pink, but inside are gold flecks.  The combination together is similar to a rose gold. My favorite way to apply this is around the outside of my lips, and then tapping the color into the center of my lips.  This brings out the gold more, and creates that wet sultry look!

Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Chemical Peel Wipes (5 pack) $17
Last, we have some skin care.  Now this particular product is not the full size. I buy it when I need it, and only the 5 pack which is significantly less money than the 30 pack. This right here was brought to my attention during a free facial at Sephora.  I didn't buy it right away because I was skeptical and it was so pricey.  The claim is that this corrects pores, uneven texture (hello chin area for me!), fine lines, etc.

The issue became that once my uneven texture was pointed out to me during my facial, it became very noticeable to me and I needed to see if I can fix it. So I ended up giving in, and eventually bought the trial size. Figured it couldn't hurt!

THE CLAIMS ARE REAL Y'ALL.  You can see a difference over night. The texture on my chin has severely gone down after multiple uses. So in my opinion, if I were to use this every night it would be gone. There is no way this product will be leaving my collection!

So there you have it, my current favorites!  Let me know if you've tried any of these products or think they would be great for you too!  I definitely recommend them all.

Operation Brunch- Theme: FALL!

Good Morning! Fall is in the air, and I couldn't be more thrilled! I know that many people would agree that fall is one of the best times during the year.  The crisp air, and the changing colors just really make me happiest. This year is the first year I have a place of my own to decorate, so I am extra excited.  I had pumpkins in our house the first day it was even a little bit chilly! So since I now have a house to host things in, its becoming my favorite season, AND I've been able to decorate for fall, I felt it was appropriate to host a fall themed brunch with my 3 oldest and closest friends! With us all living in different directions and having separate lives it's been a WHILE since the four of us got together.  I'm so happy they all made it out here this weekend.  It was a lovely day of laughing, drinking mimosas and casually annoying Scott while he tried to watch football.  I'm also glad that I now have the opportunity to host casual events with m...

Chicago- The Initiation

Hi Guys! I recently had my first work trip out to Chicago! Of course I did have some work things to do, but we did have a decent amount of time to explore and do some touristy things. Day 1 This trip I got to go out there with one of my teammates which was fun. We did some of things we felt you HAVE to do when you are in Chi Town.  Obviously the first thing we did after getting checked into our hotel was go find pizza! We went to Lou Malanati's and got these cute personal pizzas.  This was a butter crust filled with cheese, a layer of sausage and a layer of sauce! I'm partial to pizza from my area of the country (NY, NJ).  But for me you can't ever go wrong with extra carbs and cheese! After pizza we went to Cloud Gate, aka The Bean! I loved how the whole park was Chicago's version of Rockefeller Center.  There was an ice skating rink, and a big pine tree decorated with lights! Our last stop for the day was the top of the John Hancock building...
